Certificate course in Human Genetics

Institute of Human Genetics will be offering Six-month certificate course in Human Genetics.

Eligibility:

Graduate and post graduate student completed their degree in Life Science, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, and Microbiology with first class. Preference will be given to those who show skill in Biotechnology segment.

Duration of Course:

Only six students will be enrolled per semester. Four month duration from

• January to April
• June to September

Course Structure:

This will be mainly practical aspects with 6 weeks in Cytogenetics and Molecular Cytogenetics 4 weeks in Molecular and Biochemical Genetics and 2 weeks Genetic counseling and 4 weeks synopsis preparation and viva examination by external examiner.

Lectures:

Basic and practical lectures related to Human Genetics will be taken with participation of students.

• Three lectures per week

Examination:

Last week of the course shall have presentation by the students and two hours theory/ practical.
